We are the Retrospective Soundtrack Players. We may not be the world's greatest punk/rock/folk/pop concept band, but we are in the top one.
We make new soundtracks to our favourite old films and books. They are predominantly original, lovingly crafted pieces of work made with the utmost respect for their respective creators. In 2011 we released a country/americana influenced album based on the cult Paul Newman chain gang movie 'Cool Hand Luke' (and the vastly under-appreciated novel by Donn Pearce), and followed this up with 'The Catcher in the Rye' in 2012, using a punk/pop/rock template to pay homage to Salinger's classic tale of adolescent frustration.
We have toured the country throughout the last couple of years with artists such as Frank Turner, The Walkmen, King Charles and others.
